We are thrilled to announce the winner of our Light Up a Life Facebook competition.

Congratulations Fiona Staunton and family from Co. Westmeath on winning €1000 for your chosen charity - Aoibheann's Pink Tie!

Fiona also wins a sumptuous Christmas hamper with festive favourites including a whole host of tempting tipples.

And, as if that's not enough, she also receives tickets for a family of four to The Sound Of Music in The Grand Canal Theatre.

About Aoibheann’s Pink Tie

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie was set up in 2010 after Jimmy Norman’s daughter, Aoibheann, passed away. During their long battle with cancer, Jimmy met with a lot of parents going through the trauma of having a child with cancer, and more specifically identified with the financial burden that inevitably follows diagnosis. They are registered with the Irish Cancer Society and affiliated with St. John’s Oncology Ward in Crumlin Hospital. Olympic gold medal champion Katie Taylor is their charity ambassador.

So what does Aoibheann’s Pink Tie do? They provide financial and practical help to those families in need of it. This will hopefully allow the families the ability to focus on their child and working through their illness. Families are often lost in the mix when their children go through this battle, but it’s not just the child that gets cancer, it’s the whole family as each is affected and must struggle.

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie raise funds through various events and fundraisers and use this to support families who are recommended to by the senior social worker in St. John’s Ward Crumlin Hospital.

Being from near Stradbally in Co. Laois, Rosie & I know and love the festival that has become Ireland biggest arts and music festival. Electric Picnic is a fantastic fun weekend with top acts from around the world. It sells out very quickly every year. So with that in mind Rosie decided to get in early and purchase two tickets for one lucky winner. We ran a competition on Facebook which Reached over 40,000 people. That's about as many as go to the festival! We chose a random winner from the huge number of entrants and Rebecca Small aka Becky Beag, was our lucky winner.

"Thanks so much again- still can't believe I won them!  I love yer chicken goujons :)) "

Congratulations Becky! We know you will enjoy!

We're delighted to say we will be donating 3 boxes of our Chicken Products every week to the fantastic Ronald McDonald House Charities!

Here's a pic of Veronica Reid from Ronald McDonald House collecting the boxes that will go to feed the families who come and stay in their accommodation. Read about this fantastic charity below...

About Ronald McDonald House Charities

The Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation care and support for 20 families every night while their seriously ill children are inpatient or receiving care in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital.

The House enables families to stay together so that they can be with their sick child at what is a very traumatic time for them all.

The first,16 bedroom, Ronald McDonald House is situated on the grounds of Our Lady’s Hospital and our smaller 4 bedroom House is directly across the road at St Mary’s Drive.

Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. Often, it can be a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. For children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having their mum and dad close by for love and support.  Ronald McDonald House program provides a Home for families so they can stay close by their hospitalised child at very little cost.  The House works on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.
