We're so proud of April - our gorgeous sponsored Irish Guide Dog for the blind. We received this lovely update on how she is progressing.

April is excelling in her training.
She loves going on her training walks to shops and cafes but especially loves going out with her room mate ambassador dog Yanson. He has been a great help in showing her the ropes. She has great recall so gets to enjoy some time off running around the Dublin mountains. We are hoping that April will be picked for breeding so that other puppies can take on her amazing personality! We will miss her dearly but know that she is destined for greater things.

We can't imagine having to say goodbye to her.

Rosie & Jim make their way to Stockholm for the Free From Functional Food Ingredients Expo today.

This huge event is the 6th Edition of Europe’s well-established trade event for Free-From, Functional and Vegan Food.

The leading European Free From Functional Food Expo offers the opportunity to meet up with more than 270 exhibitors from over 35 different countries, presenting the latest product innovations covering gluten free, lactose free, vegan, sugar free, egg free, functional and more healthy food with nutritional or allergy free benefits. The Free From Functional Food Expo and its conference attract a high quality audience of buyers from large retail chains, bio, health, food service and catering companies. It is more than a trade show - Free From Functional Food Expo is the ultimate free from experience.

There will be a full conference programme in two dedicated theatres during the two day event. Experts will reveal all the latest insight into the market - and what the future holds. This year there will be even more to debate - with topics covering functional food and veganism.

Dates: 16 - 17 MAY STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

If you are attending please come by and meet the Rosie & Jim team!

We will be exhibiting within Bord Bia’s stand at G25.

What a beautiful shot of April - our sponsored Guide Dog. We hear she has settled in well to her new home as a brood in Kerry.   Here is the update from her brood holder:

“April is doing great. She has fitted in well with the other dogs & likes nothing better than playing with them which includes her doing her backwards spins.
She recently joined the Tralee guide dogs group in the Sunday Rose of Tralee parade where she was a big hit with young & old. Health wise - no issues & has definitely no appetite problems!”

Aww good on ya April. Keep up the good work... and entertaining other dogs with your backspins of course! laugh

Rosie & Jim are pleased to donate £100 to Eamon McCay, Managing Director of Frylite, one of our suppliers, as he marks World Homeless Day by sleeping out overnight in Strabane .

Mr McCay writes...

...on Saturday 13th October, I'm marking World Homeless Day by sleeping out overnight in Strabane. By doing this, I hope to raise awareness of homelessness and much needed funds for our chosen charities throughout Ireland.

Almost 10,000 people described themselves as homeless in Ireland this year. That includes men, women, couples and families. These are staggering figures, but the most important message is that we can all help.

You don't have to sleep out to help. €15 feeds a whole family for 2 days. £50 helps parents to learn new skills that will help them work their way out of homelessness while meeting their children's needs.

£100 helps keep families safe and warm during the cold winter months when the heating needs to be turned up for babies and children.

Best of luck to all taking part in this fundraising event.

You can donate to this most dererving cause by visiting the Frylite GoFundMe Page at www.gofundme.com/frylite-celebrating-30years.

Rosie & Jim have provided for the planting of another 12 trees in September as part of our Commitment to Sustainability.

This brings our total trees planted to 360 trees at €7200 (€240 per month), since March 2021.

This annual contribution of €2880 / 144 trees planted per year is on behalf of Rosie & Jim's efforts to offset our carbon emissions.

The Wolfgang Reforest ambition is to create a movement of people planting trees.

Rosie & Jim donate a Chicken Hamper to the fundraiser event by the Royal School Cavan Parents Association.

The funds raised are for sports facilities and a baby monitor for Cavan General Hospital. A very worthy cause.
Thanks to the Parents Association for this lovely letter...

"..I would like on behalf of the Royal School Cavan Parents Association to thank you most sincerly for your generous donation of a chicken hamper for our Monster Auction held on Friday last March 24th in the Cavan Crystal Hotel, which you donated via Georgina McCaffrey.

We raised over €18000 and are deeply indebted to the many local businesses and those further afield, including yours, for the success of this fund-raising event. The funds raised are for the indoor sports facilities and towards a baby monitor for the special care unit of Cavan General Hospital.

Wishing ou every success in the future..."

Rosie & Jim sponsored €750 for the The Ronald McDonald House Charities cycling jersey.

They were planning an annual cycle around Blessington Lakes on April 25th but this fundraising event sadly had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. So they have come up with a new plan - for May!

Cycle 60km during the month of May, in your own area and when suits you to help continue to care for our families at this unique time. It costs us €60.00 per night per family, and by registering you will be providing a family a home for the night when they need it the most.  Register online on Giv2Go for €60.00. Receive the bespoke Ronald McDonald cycle jersey. Keep one family close to their seriously sick child for one night. Cycle apart and come together for Ronald McDonald House.

Find out more about this on the RMHC website - https://rmhc.ie/events/charity-cycle4families-2020/

This is a hugely important fundraiser as they continue to raise funds for their New House alongside the New Children’s Hospital.

Check out the fab jerseys with Rosie & Jim logo! We're sure they'll get plenty of use once the restrictions are lifted :)

Susan O’Keeffe has Motor Neurone Disease, a progressive condition that affects how messages are sent to the muscles.  She can’t speak any more and has very limited mobility; she can type with one finger. Even though she has a very serious illness and is facing life’s end far too early, her focus is on helping others.  She has generously offered to help Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services to raise funds for the build and fit-out of 36 new single, state-of-the-art, palliative care bedrooms at the Hospice in Harold’s Cross.

We received a remarkable letter from Susan, telling us her amazing story, and the incredible benefit the Hospice at Blackrock is to her and other’s in a similar place to her.

We, at Rosie & Jim, were humbled to be able to donate €250 to the Hospice for these crucial building works.

Aska, one of our sponsored Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is now in training on the Guide Dog programme with trainer, Allyce.

Here she is pictured (left) with the handsome golden retriever brothers Beckett & Bramble.

Staff at Rosie & Jim celebrated their Triple Gold & Product of the Year Free-From awards today!

As well as plenty of Champagne and lots of cake, each staff member were given vouchers worth €250 as a token of appreciation by Rosie & Jim.

"Without our valued staff we wouldnt be where we are today" - says Rosie, "Thanks everyone!".
