A number of weeks ago, an employee of ours asked for support for his daughters friend, who is fundraising for the Kolkata school project. Rosie & Jim were delighted to donate chicken products for their fundraiser. It was a fantastic night and the girls raised over €1800!

Below is the lovely letter we received from the girls after their event...

Dear Rosie & Jim,

Thank you very much for your support in our fundraiser event last Saturday, the 3rd of October. Our fundraising efforts were in aid of our Immersion Experience to Kolkata with our school next February, were we will have the opportunity to work with disadvantaged children.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Carolyn McCarthy and Kate Danaher

Rosie & Jim are pleased to sponsor €750 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Ireland cycle jersey again this year.

Reach your fundraising target and you'll receive a bespoke finishers yellow jersey!

This is a beautiful cycle around Blessington Lakes in County Wicklow. You can select from 3 courses, a 25km which is easy for all family members to enjoy starting from The Avon Resort at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains. The 50km route lets you embrace nature by completing two loops of the lake. For a seasoned cyclist the 100km will provide more of a challenge with more undulations but still enjoying the stunning views and connecting with nature.

Rosie & Jim are delighted to sponsor fundraiser in Asia for MAG (Mines Action Group) for the amount of €300.

Managing Director of Henderson Foodservice Cathal Geoghegan participated in a charity cycle event in Asia for MAG (Mines Action Group). Cathal joined a team of 35 sector leaders participating in a 400km cycle from Chaing Rai, Thailand to Luang Prabang in Laos.

Every day across the world 15 people are killed or injured by a landmine or unexploded bomb. Half of all civilian casualties are children. MAG teams work around the world to remove landmines and other deadly weapons, reducing the risk of death or injury and returning land to safe and productive use. MAG also provides risk education classes, so children and their families can stay as safe as possible until land is cleared. In 2023, the Thai-Laos Cycle Challenge will finish in Laos, which is the most heavily bombed county in the world per capita. The team has set themselves an equally challenging target of £170,000 which will make a life changing difference to people living with the daily threat of landmines and unexploded bombs.

Congratulations and well done to everyone who took part in this fantastic fundraiser!

Rosie & Jim have donated €50 to Cancer Fund for Children.

Cancer Fund for Children was founded in 1973 by Margaret McAlpine MBE, a teacher who had been recruited to provide continuity to children’s education whilst they were receiving treatment on the wards at Belvoir Park Hospital in Belfast, following a diagnosis of cancer.

Over the next ten years, Margaret recruited a range of volunteers, including consultant oncologist Dr George Edelstein, to form a Charity Board to help deliver a range of practical and financial support to families.

This developed into residential support with the purchase of Shimna Valley House in Co Down in 1996.  Aided by funds from the National Lottery, and opened by local celebrity Patrick Kielty, Cancer Fund for Children’s Shimna Valley House offered families nursing a sick child a place of tranquillity, far removed from the stress of the hospital wards – and was the fore-runner of the unique Daisy Lodge, which was opened in 2014 and stands on the same site today.

"We understand the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis and its treatment has and are here to support the whole family so they don’t have to face cancer alone."

We are thrilled to announce the winner of our Light Up a Life Facebook competition.

Congratulations Fiona Staunton and family from Co. Westmeath on winning €1000 for your chosen charity - Aoibheann's Pink Tie!

Fiona also wins a sumptuous Christmas hamper with festive favourites including a whole host of tempting tipples.

And, as if that's not enough, she also receives tickets for a family of four to The Sound Of Music in The Grand Canal Theatre.

About Aoibheann’s Pink Tie

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie was set up in 2010 after Jimmy Norman’s daughter, Aoibheann, passed away. During their long battle with cancer, Jimmy met with a lot of parents going through the trauma of having a child with cancer, and more specifically identified with the financial burden that inevitably follows diagnosis. They are registered with the Irish Cancer Society and affiliated with St. John’s Oncology Ward in Crumlin Hospital. Olympic gold medal champion Katie Taylor is their charity ambassador.

So what does Aoibheann’s Pink Tie do? They provide financial and practical help to those families in need of it. This will hopefully allow the families the ability to focus on their child and working through their illness. Families are often lost in the mix when their children go through this battle, but it’s not just the child that gets cancer, it’s the whole family as each is affected and must struggle.

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie raise funds through various events and fundraisers and use this to support families who are recommended to by the senior social worker in St. John’s Ward Crumlin Hospital.
