We have made a donation of €2,000 to Oughaval Athletics Club! We're very pleased to have donated to this great club.

Follow them on Oughaval AC Facebook.

Hank, Izzy and Champ - look at them now!

The Irish Guide Dogs we have sponsored have returned to Cork for further assessment and training and they are after getting so big while they have been away! Aside from being adorable these doggies are on a mission to train hard and work to help empower people to move safely and confidently around their communities.

Hank has been selected for the Guide Dog programme and has begun very well.

Izzy is settling in well after an initial stressful period for her after leaving her home but staff at HQ are looking after her well. She is still been evaluated for her suitability for either the Guide or Assistance dog programme.

And Champ has been selected for the Assistance Dog programme and has displayed an excellent temperament for this. He will hopefully come through to work with a family of a child with autism.

The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is an amazing charity - please donate if you can!

Congratulations again to Fiona Staunton and her nominated charity Aoibheann's Pink Tie on winning €1000 donation from Rosie & Jim.

Here's Tracey delivering the HUGE cheque!

Aoibheann's Pink Tie

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie “National Children’s Cancer Charity” was set up in 2010 by Mick Rochford and Jimmy Norman after the tragic loss of Jimmy’s daughter Aoibheann to cancer aged just 8 years. During Aoibheann’s year long battle with this dreadful disease, the family found little or no financial or practical support  for children and their families.

Jimmy and his family had a large support network of friends and family but found that many on the ward had virtually no support at all.

When Aoibheann passed away the men wore pink ties at the funeral which was Aoibheann’s favourite colour. The charity was formed in her memory to remedy the lack of support for other children and their families going through treatment.

Rosie & Jim has donated €2,000 to Unicef Libya Flood Emergency Appeal.

See below for more info and to donate:

Libya Floods Emergency Appeal
Right now the situation in Libya is getting worse by the day. Over 5,000 people have lost their lives due to devastating floods caused by Storm Daniel in eastern Libya, 10,000 more are still missing, and over 40,000 people have been internally displaced. Water supplies have been heavily damaged or destroyed, forcing people to drink contaminated water. Children left homeless, injured and traumatised are now at huge risk of getting sick from waterborne diseases like cholera, diarrhoea and malaria. Children in Libya are battling to survive amidst the crisis. They urgently need clean water, food and shelter to survive. UNICEF is on the ground working to deliver humanitarian aid but we need your help to reach every child in need. Please donate now and help children and their families survive.

Rosie & Jim are pleased to share they have donated €2000 to a Malin Head to Slea Head Cycle Fundraiser for DEBRA Ireland

Conor McGarry and his 2 friends came up with the idea of cycling from the top to the bottom of Ireland over 3 days (25th - 27th June, 2021) – from Malin Head in beautiful Donegal to Slea Head in the wilds of the Dingle Peninsula. They decided to harness this challenge by raising money for DEBRA Ireland. DEBRA Ireland is an incredible charity which supports children and adults living with the painful, genetic skin condition epidermolysis bullosa (EB). Inspired by our fellow Laois person, Emma Fogarty, who is a Patient Ambassador of DEBRA Ireland, EB means that Emma’s skin is as fragile as the wings of a butterfly. There is no cure or treatment and for Emma the only way of controlling the wounds is constant bandage changes every second day.

LauraLynn– Ireland’s Children’s Hospice are Rosie & Jim, Ballybrittas' nominated charity.

Respite care is the very heart of what they do at LauraLynn.  It is not a luxury, but a necessity for both the caregivers and the sick child.

Caring for a seriously ill child puts immense physical and emotional strain on the whole family.  Through LauraLynn respite care, families have the opportunity to take a break, while we care for their sick child.  LauraLynn multi-disciplinary team provides children with full medical support, as well as a variety of therapies to enhance their care.

LauraLynn are able to offer families choices, providing on-going support for as long as they choose.

Providing a nights respite to a child is an invaluable gift to the child and their whole family and Rosie & Jim have donated to support 5 overnight stays for a child.
